Bars, Pubs, Clubs, Cocktails....

Ok on my last post I forgot someone had just posted favorite places to see. So let me try this one...where are your favorite evening spots, to relax with a good drink/wine/beer/music?

Cheers,

Want a bit of a new trendy Pigalle? Here is a good introduction:

Divan du Monde

75 rue des Martyrs

75009 Paris

Tél. : 01.40.05.06.99

Site web : www.divandumonde.com

In the Bastille area, basically a club, but can become more loungy depending on the night. Check the website

La Scène

2 bis rue Taillandiers

75011 PARIS

Tél. : 01 48 06 50 70

www.la-scene.com

Anyway, this portion of rue de Charonne is always busy, you can have a drink / snack at the Pause Café, or la Fée verte on rue de la Roquette

Probably the best jazz lounge in town, with a latino twist:

Le Baiser Salé

58 rue des Lombards

75001 Paris

Tél. : 01.42.33.37.71

www.lebaisersale.com

Métro : Châtelet

If you don%26#39;t like it, walk around the corner to the Duc des Lombards, same kind of stuff

A new place in the heart of the Marais. Jazz, lounge, even a little courtyard if the weather cooperates:

Les 7 Lézards

10 rue des Rosiers

75004 Paris

Tél. : 01 48 87 08 97

www.7lezards.com

If you want to be a bit more adventurous and discover buzzing Gambetta, the new hip neighborhood in Paris, here is an eclectic, bo-bo multifacetted place with a bookstore, a concert hall, a nice restaurant

La Maroquinerie

23 rue Boyer

75020 Paris

Tél. : 01 40 33 30 60

www.lamaroquinerie.fr

Métro : Ménilmontant / Gambetta

I don%26#39;t remember what time of the year you%26#39;ll be there. If the nights are balmy enough, you can try the boats that are moored next to the Bibliothèque nationale de France, on the Seine: Batofar, Guinguette Pirate, etc. Good DJ lineup, miles away from the bateaux-mouche!

Thank you so much for all the detail in your reply, this is very helpful.

any more ideas from anyone? I have 7 evening to fill.....I can not wait!!!

Cheers,

|||

Well, yes, you can wait, you still have more than three months for that! That I would recommend you intelligently fill by buying Time Out%26#39;s Paris guide, by far the best one available in English on the city. It%26#39;ll give you a European (British) eye on Paris, with an impeccably researched %26quot;classic%26quot; sightseeing section, and, most importantly, an updated and flawless entertainment section. I am telling you, the expats who write the guide are real night owls, and their clubs and bars recommendations are spot on. The guide being updated every March, you won%26#39;t risk going to a place that%26#39;s been passé for the last year.

There%26#39;s always Harry%26#39;s Bar of course. Splendid ambience, professionally mixed cocktails, reassuringly expensive. They do not have wine (champagne at a push). Close to Opera. There are several other inviting looking bars the in same street.

Also like Willi%26#39;s Wine Bar on Rue des Petit-Champs. Great bar with huge choice of wines a few of which are resonably priced, and cheese. (You can eat through the back).

Otherwise..... anywhere with a terrace where you can sit out and watch the world go by.

Just throwing this up again to see if anyone has just got back from their trip and has any places to add.

I can not wait to go to Bobin%26#39;o Cabaret it looks like a great night!

Are there any other discos that are open during the weeknights?

I just want to thank you all so far in taking the time and answering my questions for our firts trip. I have to say going to Europe is much more stressful than planning a trip here in the states due to I have no clue what to expect since there are a few differences. So thank you all again for setting my mind at alot more ease!!!

Cheers,

Stacie

We always walk up to Place de la Contrescarpe. There are cafes on either three or four sides and there seems to always be music and something going on to watch.

Pjk

|||

that is located in the 6th correct?

Cheers,

|||

I think it%26#39;s the 5th. When I was looking I came across what I think is one of the cafes there..Café Delmas.

are you jazzy ?

Jazz club Lionel Hampton, at the Meridien Hotel, check on

www.cofrase-cabarets.com and clic on programs (october not yet available) ...

Another one, mystic a long time ago,

www.caveaudelahuchette.fr (6th)

And something different, you can have a drink, a light dinner, and music (disc jockey) on 2 stores,

le Pub St Germain, 17 rue de l%26#39;Ancienne Comédie, Paris 6
