Those wonderful delicate cotton tablecloths with strawberries printed all over them (for example) that are made in France. Good resource in Paris?

Not sure that they carry precisely what you%26#39;re searching for...but there is a great tableware (including alarge selectionof table linen) shop, DINERS-EN-VILLE--27 rue de Varenne %26amp; rue du Bac, 75007, Metro: Rue du Bac
If they haven%26#39;t got exactly what you want....I%26#39;l bet they have more than enough other things that you didn%26#39;t even know you needed to have, until you walked through their door.
If you%26#39;re workin%26#39; your way south, through the interesting shopping area of Saint Germain des Prés, toward Le BON MARCHÉ...In the same general vicinity, you%26#39;ll also find one of the YVES DELORMÉ shops at 27 Rue Saint Sulpice (btwn:rue de Tournon %26amp; rue Garanciere), 75006, Metro: Odéon

If you%26#39;re headed south....Provence is full of the lovely tableclothes at all the local markets.
I have 2 and plan to get another on this trip.
They%26#39;re great to have....a reminder of a fabulous vacation !!

I would try La Tuile a Loup in the 5th at 35, rue Daubenton, the large department stores, BHV, Bon Marche, Au Primptemps. I believe that the brand %26quot;Jacquard Francais%26quot; may make the kind of linen you describe. I love buying tablecloths, napkins, pillowcases, etc. when I travel, so I am always on the lookout. Another great place for housewares is a store called %26quot;Blanc d%26#39;Ivoire%26quot;. It%26#39;s near the Bon Marche.
Are you going to Paris soon? If not, I%26#39;m going in October and would be happy to share any new sources with you. Believe me, I%26#39;ll be on the hunt.
I do agree with the previous writer. Yves DeLorme has some great items.

we%26#39;re going in november so i would happily check back for more sources. the kind i love are all cotton with a sweet print over them. bought one in the states last year and it has strawberries all over...almost like indian cotton but nicer. they are the most lovely tableclothes and we use a cloth every day. so they get a lot of use!

they are almost an indian cotton...we use them every day. thanks...we are going in november so i will check back.

You could also look around up at the large MARCHÉ SAINT PIERRE--2 rue Charles Nodier (at the foot of Montmartre, 75018, Metro: Anvers-- http://www.marche-saint-pierre.fr/ --( and the immediate enviorns... %26#39;..ground zero..%26#39; fabric in Paris) purchase fabrics-by-the-meter to your tastes, bring it home and have it made up into clothes to fit.

omg...that would send me into massive sensory overload!!!! a few of the sites above sound just perfect. and we are staying in the 6th so a few will be very close. it seems just the thing to bring home and remember paris forever.

I did a litltle research and am pretty sure that what I am looking for is called %26#39;block print%26#39; ...I already saw a few online through the sites above that I think look amazing. I also think I might get one of them for a holiday gift...they are so packable.

I went to so many markets, I dont remember where I saw them, but at at least 2 of the outdoor markets, there were tables selling table cloths, napkins and bread basket cloths (not sure what you call those things). Not the prints from Provence... More lacy, white stuff with embroidery, etc.
Maybe the Marche Bastille or Mouffetard???

If you%26#39;re planning on purchasing household linnens, facrics, etc. it%26#39;s usually a good idea to measure any places or objects you%26#39;re purchasing them for, jutting down the measurements and REMEMBER to take it with you. Another handy devise that you can carry with you is a cloth %26#39;tailor%26#39;s / seamstress%26#39; tape measure---the sort with inch increments on one side and metric increments on the other (available at most fabric %26amp; sewing shops in the US)
