Rescue the Negresco?

Nice has just about everything apart from a really grand hotel, the Negresco having fallen on hard times. If only a top Asian hotel group, such as the Shangri-la or New Otani would take it over and sort it out. Failing that, perhaps members of TA could club together to buy it? I would be happy to contribute £50. Who is going to join me?

I%26#39;m up for a TA time-share. Bags 14th July!

On that note, can anyone recommend the La Rotonde Brasserie in the Negresco. I believe there is a %26#39;Set%26#39; dinner menu for around 34Euros and would quite like to try it.

I ate at La Rotonde once and it was fantastic. The nicest steak I%26#39;ve ever had ina restaurant. If you can ,sit outside and enjoy your meal whilst staring out over the Med.

I can recommend La Rotonde and there will be others on here who can too. Just need to check that each person in the party likes at least 1 of the 2 choices for each course.

Thanks guys, I%26#39;ve already booked for early October. Only been for cocktails before so really looking forward to it.

How about dress code if any. Would you say %26#39;smart...casual%26#39; is fine, or what?

Regards,

Pat.

Hi there I was at La Rotonde two weeks ago, excellent set menu and it is cheap for what you pay.

I had seafood terrine as a started, veal for a main and Pavlova for dessert. Yes it is EUR34 for 3 courses and there are other choices.

With a bottle of wine and sparkling water including tip it was EUR100 Excellent value, be sure to visit the amazing lobby, the bar was quiet and pretty boring.

Sounds delicious, I agree about the bar though we found it the same so won%26#39;t bother with it this time.

Thanks Brusselsdude for the tip about eating out on the Terrace, I%26#39;m Emailing La Rotonde again to make sure we can eat there.

Thanks,

Pat.
