We will be traveling from Barcelona to Nice by train to explore the south of France. Just wanted to know if there are any can%26#39;t miss locations or towns that we should definately stay in- thanks!!

Stay in? Nice is the travel hub, so thats your best place to stay in. From there you can visit most of the eastern Riviera by bus and train. Monaco, Cannes Antibes, Villefranche, Vence, St Paul, Eze - you get the drift?
For the western stretch, if you want a second base, somewhere like Aix en Provence would give you access to a quite different part of the South of France

Hi NL,
The expression %26quot;Stay in%26quot; is a coined phrase used only by we of the US, as compared to %26quot;Stay out%26quot;., which of course we couldn%26#39;t when visiting a town. Sorry to take such liberties from our mother tongue.
Cheers as always,
Bruce

Sorry for the grammer error- but I apreciate the help.

Each morning, walk up to the train station and just pick a town - Antibbes, Villefranche, Eze, Monte Carlo -- and spend the day, have lunch. Use Nice as your center, stay there.

We just returned last Tuesday from Nice. We used this as our base and visited all the wonderful towns in the area. We were with family who rented a car and knew his way around.
If we had been on our own, we probably would have used the transportation system or maybe a day or two tour. We saw several local tour buses in Nice.
Enjoy
