My wife and I will be Nice beginning October 2nd. We are the type who would prefer to grab some cheeze, sandwiches, desserts and a bottle of wine and go find a nice place to have a picnic for lunch. Does anyone recommend some good picnic spots (could be coastline view, garden, etc). Also, does anyone recommend a good place to purchase the cheeze, sandwiches, desserts, wine?
We%26#39;ll also be visiting Eze, Viilefranche, St. Paul, Monaco.......

For me, there%26#39;s only one place for a picnic lunch, and that%26#39;s in the park at the top of the Colline du Chateau. The views are spectacular, and the grounds are beautiful. That bottle of wine will never taste greater. Enjoy!

Parc du Mont Boron, Port of Nice, footpath which runs from Coco Beach to Cap de Nice, Villefranche beach, harbour at St Jean Cap Ferrat or almost anywhere around the Cap, cactus garden at Eze and /or many spots on the walk down to Eze Bord de Mer, viewpoint looking down on Monaco at La Turbie (need a car to get to this one), many places on the Moyenne and Haute Corniches (two of the roads which go east from Nice)
There are literally hundreds of places to buy the ingredients. You will have no difficulty but do remember that the vast majority of shops close between 12.00 and 2.00 or longer. It is only fractionally more expensive to buy sandwiches (French style) apple tart, etc and all are usually delicious. In the old town in Nice there are probably 100 places selling these.
