I know it sounds silly but is it possible to do a quick in-and-out in Lourdes? I just want to see the grotto.
My husband and I are flying into Toulouse from the States on Sept. 29. We will be touring the south of France and flying out of Nice on Oct 7th.
Our basic idea is to spend the first two nights in Carcassonne and then head east.
Lourdes was not in our original plan for the trip, but now I see it is not so far from Toulouse. I have long had an affinity for St. Bernadette/Lourdes (my confirmation name is Bernadette). I figure I will never have another chance to be this close, so I hate to miss it.
My thought is to head to Lourdes as soon as we land, visit quickly, then head to Carcassonne. This would be probably 6 hours of driving and I think we will be fairly jet-lagged.
Is there someplace else we could stay the first night and get back on track quickly to Carcassonne?
Is it worthwhile to do this kind of quick and dirty visit to Lourdes or not?

Hello,
You could take the train toulouse-Lourdes (2 hours max) spend your first night in Lourdes. Loads of choice of hotels even for one night. And then get back on the train the next day direction Carcassone. You will need to change at Toulouse. Toulouse-Carcassone is about 1h30 .
If you%26#39;re coming all this way, I think it%26#39;s definitevely worth it.
Let me know if you need anymore help.

Thank you for the advice, Hoja. My husband and I will talk it over.
I would like to visit it, if possible.
