We are thinking about taking our 2 children who are on the autism spectrum for their first airplaine trip to Paris for a week. I%26#39;m of course very scared about taking them on a plane, although they have both made so much progress with dealing with new environments, transitions, etc. They are good car travelers, and enjoy vacations at hotels in the states.
For the first few days, I%26#39;m planning to stay with family near Paris, but I thought it would be nice to spend a few nights at a hotel so we can show them around Paris on our own. I%26#39;ve been to Paris many times before as a single..and I remember that almost all hotels have balconies and windows that open....(We have to be extra careful with our kids!). Does anybody have experience traveling with children on the spectrum here? Any hotels to recommend? How about airlines? I hear that Virgin is great, but I don%26#39;t want to have to transfer in London. They are young (6 and 4).
Many thanks!

The Marriott has some rooms without balconies....
Good luck!

The Novotel in the 15th has what you are looking for the rooms are for families of four.

marriott rive gauche in the 14th has all windows that dont open (its a 18th floors hotel) just ask if you go there if all dont open (i think so cause i had several guests asking me why they wouldnt open-i work at reception there- and i visited some rooms windows could not open for security reasons)

I have stayed at both the Novotel and the Marriott Rive Gauche. Both would suit your needs well. I think I would choose the Marriott for your needs. It is located closer to a metro stop and with your children that may be better. They also offer connecting rooms if you prefer that option. Make sure to request a room facing the main part of the city. Our room had an amazing view of Notre Dame and Sacre Couer in the distance. It is not the most charming hotel but it is a full service, traditional Marriott type hotel (I stayed there when it was still a Sofitel but my DH stayed there last week and said the service was identical to the Sofitel service).
Have a great trip! Moms

I also have another thought that may work well for you. Vacations In Paris offers nightly room rates on apartments in Paris. Two centrally located apartments that may meet your needs are %26quot;Place des Victoires%26quot; and %26quot;Louvre%26quot;. They are two bedroom apartments with full kitchens and are less than $250.00 per night. Neither appears to have French doors leading to a balcony, windows that open, yes, but not actually doors. Just a thought... Moms

Forgot to give you the website: www.vacationinparis.com.

With two little ones make sure your hotel has an elevator! or ask for a ground floor room then you will not have to worry about balconies and windows etc.
Make sure you ask the hotel for window rooms that do not open. Many of the hotels with A/C in the rooms have windows that do not open.
Since you are in NY you can probably find a direct flight so you do not have to transfer planes and wait in another airport.
