Hotel Britannique

Has anyone stayed here? And yes, I%26#39;ve read the reviews on TA, but I am interested in anyone here comments, thoughts, etc. about their stay, and about tips of things nearby (restaurants, markets, etc.).

It looks like a lovely place in a different area than I%26#39;ve stayed before.

Many thanks in advance :-)

We stayed there in June, 2006, and we loved it. The location was so convenient, and we were able to walk to many places from there. Whenever we wanted to take the metro, all we had to do was cross the street. The rooms at the Britannique are VERY small, but EXTREMELY charming, and UNBELIEVABLY clean. It was a very pleasant place to return to after a long day of touring. As for restaurants, we ate wherever we wanted, and we didn%26#39;t confine ourselves to places near our hotel.

Hi Shoesy - thanks for the response! I am looking forward to staying there. I am usually an opportunistic diner as well, but my mother (traveling companion for this trip) likes to plan. When I posted, our plans were such that we%26#39;d be arriving rather late via Eurostar from London and thought we%26#39;d stay close to the hotel for dinner that night, but we revised our plans to leave London earlier for more time in Paris! I%26#39;m excited - 2 Paris trips in one year!

We stayed there this summer, in July. One of the reviews here on TA is mine. We loved the hotel! The location was great, and the rooms were very nice. We had two rooms. One was kind of small, but the other was quite large. We wandered and found restaurants on our own, but also went to several that the hotel suggested. Two out of three of those were fantastic. The other was fine, but just not as much to our liking. There is a small (along the lines of a mini mart) grocery store a couple blocks away, as well as a la poste. We shipped several boxes home (bought a bunch of stuff, lol) and it was very easy to figure out.

I am sure there is an ATM close by - can anyone tell me where the closest is to this hotel? Thanks. Also, my mother has some mobility issues and sometimes the metro just isn%26#39;t a good option for her. She read that there is a taxi stand in front of or very near the hotel - can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

I have stayed there with my groups. It%26#39;s always been just great. Clean as can be, well located, nice breakfast, nice staff. You can%26#39;t go wrong, really.

There%26#39;s an ATM right around the corner, and a bakery as well...

There%26#39;s a %26#39;Crédit Industriel et Commercial%26#39; ATM machine on rue Halles and a taxi stand on Ave Victoria next to the tour St-Jacques, both a block away.
