Where's the most romantic place to stay in Paris

We%26#39;re not looking for the flashiest, huge hotel with massive rooms and all the extras.

What I really want is somewhere that is just ultra romantic, and very french, and perfect for 2nights.

Obviously i%26#39;d prefer it not to cost the earth but romance over budget definitely.

Thanks in advance

Chedges,

We stay at the Hotel Prince de Conde, 39 Rue de Seine (6th). On booking sites inclu expedia it is listed and reviewed as a %26quot;Libertel%26quot; but is now privately owned.

The hotel is a boutique hotel, only 12 rooms, with very good, attentive staff. Rooms overlook the street. Art galleries to the left and right, and 100m to the right you are on the Pont des Arts, a very romantic location. 20m to the left you have La Palette, a very atmospheric and well known Paris cafe, and another 50m has you on the Rue de Buci, the food market, several fine restaurants and metro stations on Boulevard St Germain.

We have had seven visits to date, and are returning in Oct.

We book direct with the hotel via their web site

As you are not looking for anything %26quot;fancy%26quot; or flashy may I suggest the Hotel Esmeralda. We stayed there for our honeymoon in May this year and it was perfect.

The Esmeralda is close to the Place St Michel, opposite Notre Dame. If you get a front facing room the view alone is worth the money, but for the location the hotel is very cheap anyway (we paid about €340 for five nights for a double en suite).

It is an unusual hotel, old fashioned and each room is different - a proper garret style French place!

There are no televisions and that coupled with the view and the little room that felt we were transported back in time made the whole experience very romantic for us.

There is no website, but you can read reviews and see pictures on here.

My husband and I are going to stay at the Hotel Relais St. Germain at 9 carrefour Odeon. I haven%26#39;t been there previously, but it looks like what I like - beamed ceiling, french fabrics. The food is supposed to be great at the hotel restaurant, Le Comptoir. Also, the location is great, right by the Odeon metro stop in the 6th. Have fun!

The first hotel we stayed in on a surprise weekend in Paris is the Chopin. It%26#39;s located on one of the passages - Jufroy, I think. We had a top floor room and looked out over the tile roofs of the neighbourhood, just like in the movies that made Paris the dream trip - very romantic and also very quiet..

It%26#39;s not a terribly expensive place, but one that makes you feel like a temporary Parisian. We went out into the neighbourhood for breakfast. Another opportunity to be Parisian and one that%26#39;s a little more romantic than taking the breakfast in the hotel.

Bon voyage.

I think the setting of the Pavillon de la Reine on the beautiful Place des Vosges. makes it a very special place.
