A bed and breakfast in Gordes or a villa in Bonnieux

We are traveline with our two daughters, ages 19 and 26 the first two weeks in July of next year. We will be staying in Paris for 4 nights and a week in Provence. We have found a nice two bedroom villa in Bonnieux with a pool. We have also found a very nice Inn in Gordes - la ferme de la Huppe. Can%26#39;t decide if we want to stay in a home and occasionally cook or be nearer a village where there is more to do. Any suggestions?

Assuming you will have a car, I would vote for the villa. It just changes everything (IMO).

I don%26#39;t know if the villa is free standing or is a village house with shared walls. If it is free standing, you will not have the noise of other guests coming and going at all hours. Nor will you have set time tables for breakfast, etc. You can do what you wish, when you wish. Plus, you don%26#39;t have to worry about disturbing other guests yourselves. Having your own pool here in July is something you will definitely appreciate.

Horses for courses. If you are the type of folks who want to have a front desk available for questions, directions, translations, etc. You would not have that with the villa, assuming the owner is not on site. If you want to mingle with other people at breakfast and generally all around, then the B%26amp;B may be the better option.

Enjoy your holiday whatever you choose.

Thanks for your prompt response to my inquiry about renting a villa or an inn. We have decided on the inn based on the need to have someone to help with translating, directions, etc. Another time, another trip - a villa for two weeks!

We have just returned from a four night stay at Ferme de la Huppe, and I must say I believe you%26#39;ve made the right decision! Ferme is a magical place with food that verges on being poetry. We had the best and most inspired meals there! They exceeded any I%26#39;ve ever had! And the accommodations are quietly luxurious with caring attention from all the staff. I hope you have a great visit to the Luberon; I know you%26#39;ll love Ferme.
