favorite restaurant or cafe on ile de Cite and ile St Louis

Would appreciate any recommendations for family of four and maybe one special night out for hubby and me. Would be willing to try any place close/walking distance. Our kids are young teens, seasoned travellers. thanks

La Rose de France, in the quiet oasis of Place Dauphine on the Ile de la Cite. Good food, wonderful ambiance, reasonable prices.

Great little family-run restaurant. Friendly service, good meals, intimate atmosphere:

Ditto what Francophool said. Le Tastevin is a special restaurant for me.

Another cute little restaruant called %26quot;Au Vieux Paris d%26quot;Arcole%26quot;.

The building is ivy covered, and very romantic and cosy looking inside ( rue Chanoinesse). The Orange duck was fantastic.

If you reserve on line they give you a free drink.

Hope you like it as much as we did!

If you need a pleasant lunch option we used Cafe Med on Isle St Louis.

Pleasant atmosphere with friendly service and incredible value for the standard of food.

Locals eat there too - always a good sign.

Not many tables though so go early.

If you walk back to the Left Bank fro the Ile St Louis you will pass this tied up by the bank...

It is the O Fil De L%26#39;O and you can board it on the other side and have dinner or just a drink. It never moves from its location.

Compulsory stop at Berthillon ( with a English-French dictionary in hand ) for one of the 40 + flavor of the world most delicious Sorbets.

Re: O Fil De L%26#39;O

I think the web site says they close 29 Sept and re-open either 1 Mar or 3 Apr.( I don%26#39;t read much French)

I want to add %26quot;Mon Vieil Ami%26quot; 69, rue Saint. Louis-en-l%26quot;isle; tel.: 01.40.46.01.35. It is a Wasserman restaurant (he has a gourmet house in Strasbourg). We will be dining there again this fall.

Mon Vieil Ami and Tastevin were the 2 highly recommended spots I never got to, thanks to family obligations. Heard Tastevin over and over again....

My favorite spot for lunch on Ile St Louis is Pomm Cannale on Rue des Deux Ponts. Has been there forever and still wonderful. Great savory tarts and lots of Berthillon flavor choices, in addition to their own wonderful desserts.

Went to Rose of France thanks to recommendations here, and the food was good, but the service was abominable! The woman was very nice, but I guess the 45 minute cell phone/cigarette break in the square in the middle of service aided her in forgetting to pick up my food from the pass-thru window. She asked if I wanted dessert after her break (I was trying to get her attention, but didnt want to interrupt her call!) and I had to point to my food sitting there waiting for her to get it! Good foie gras - decent salad with what would be $20 worth of baby artichoke hearts here - but 3 hours for lunch at a moderate place like this on my last day in Paris was not optimum!
