Toulouse - 4 days mid week or 3 days at the weekend?

Hi all,

I%26#39;ve managed to find some cheap flights to Toulouse and would love to go! I plan to visit in Jun 2008 and will be travelling on my own.

I enjoy exploring cities, but as I%26#39;m going to be on my own won%26#39;t be taking advantage of the night life too much!

Can anyone help me with my question -

Should I stay 4 nights from a Tuesday to a Saturday, or 3 nights from a Saturday to a Tuesday?

Thanks.

I would go during the week. It is more lively.

Shops will be closed on Sunday and possibly on Monday morning or all day.

Since you are staying four nights/five days, you have enough time if you wish to enjoy a day trip to either Carcassonne or Albi: unforgettable cities that are easy to get to from Toulouse by train.

You%26#39;ll love Toulouse, the %26quot;Pink City%26quot;: great architecture, food, people, the Garonne, etc.

I did Toulouse on my tod nearly six years ago. As victorine says, Carcassone and Albi (where the Toulouse-Lautrec museum is) are easily do-able as day trips. So is Montauban, where the Ingres museum is

I found this good cheap hotel near the station, where the navette (shuttle bus) from the airport arrives / departs. At the time it only 170 FF which worked out as £17 a night for a single room with TV and small en-suite.

It%26#39;s now €35 which hardly breaks the bank. It caters for a lot of business travellers.

(If you want to experience a bit of the local culture, one of France%26#39;s best bands, Zebda, comes from Toulouse: www.zebda.fr)

In June it will be pretty hot down there ,probably about 35 degrees or so. You might be better off going in May or September instead if you can. Regardless of when you go, have a good trip.
