Hi all, is this possible fly from Malaga to Nice, pick up a rental car and drive the French riveria ending up at Rapallo where we will be based for a week.
Does anyone know if we can rent a convertible and will mid sept 08 be ok weather wise with a convertible.
We plan on stopping in ville france, monte carlo then onto Rapallo, apparently it is only about 2 hrs drive not allowing for lunch and sightseeing of course.
Any help very much appreciated.

I can%26#39;t find any direct flights from Malaga to Nice, even by full price carriers, so it would be worth checking your information - the cheapest option could be flying with a budget operator via Stansted in the UK, but that isn%26#39;t a fun place for a holiday. http://www.skyscanner.net/ gives details of cheap flights. The nearest option looks to be an Easyjet flight from Malaga to Milan!
I%26#39;ve never tried to rent a convertible, but I%26#39;ve seen them listed by most of the major agents on the coast. You will need to notify the rental company if you plan to take the car into Italy, as you need to carry reflective jackets in case of accident / breakdown and the company should be able to provide them. It will almost certainly be much cheaper to return the car to France - otherwise the hire company may charge an additional fee for repatriation.

Thankyou Diz, I guess we will change our plans and try and fly from Malaga to either Pisa, Milan or Genoa, what would you suggest or should I say what is feasible. We have 7 nights in a T/share at Rapallo, so maybe it is better to hire a car from Genoa and drive over to monaco, ville france for a day.
Do you think that is a better idea. As we won%26#39;t be charged for a one day rental.
Are the roads easy to navigate and drive, not use to driving on the wrong side of the road
