Rugby World Cup - Do I have time to get to the match??

I have searched the forums but just hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. I am flying into CDG on Friday 28th, we should land at 5.30pm. I have tickets for England v Tonga, which kicks off at 9pm so what will be the quickest way for me to get to my hotel to drop my stuff off and then make way to the game? Will this even be possible ro should I just go striaght to the match? We have booked Novotel Paris Gare Montparnassemy on Rue du Cotentin as this seemed to be quite convienant for Parc de Princes and the main sights. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

This seems doable. If it were me, I%26#39;d take the RER into Paris because it%26#39;s rush hour on a Friday. Get off at DENFERT ROCHEREAU and grab a taxi to your hotel (less than 10€)

From your hotel, walk north two blocks to the PASTEUR Metro station on line 6, direction ETOILE, and then change to line 10, direction BOULOGNE. Get off at Porte de St-Cloud. The stadium is just a few blocks north of the Metro.

OOPS, I left out a slightly important detail. You change from line-6 to line-10 at La Motte Picquet Grenelle

That sounds great - if for some reason the flight is delayed - do you think I would be ok to take a ruck sack into the staduim with me and is there a qucker way to get to the staduim if I avoid going to the hotel??

Sorry, I%26#39;ve never attended a match in France so I don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;ll let you in with it.

I totally agree with metromoll for transportation advice. Don%26#39;t venture on the roads around Paris on a Friday evening!

As far as the match is concerned, taking a large bag with you could be a problem. I attended South Africa/Samoa around ten days ago and I think large bags were among items forbiden. I think you can probably find a list on www.rugbyworldcup.com. Moreover, where I was seated (tribune Auteuil) the rows are very narrow and you don%26#39;t have much space under the seats, so I%26#39;m not sure you would be able to keep your bag near you...

Fingers crossed for your plane not being late (or your luggage being tiny)

Thanks so much for your help! Can%26#39;t wait now!
