Reversed Hotel Check in/out

On travelling to Paris, we hit Chicago at 5am after an 8 hour flight, and do not leave until that evening. Realizing we will be crapped out, I%26#39;d like to check into a hotel, but most check ins are at 1pm; meaning I would have to get a room for 2 days. I imagine this situation comes up a lot at major hubs like Chicago, and that a hotel might have a few rooms for this purpose - with check in and out times reversed. Anyone ever heard of this?

You might have more luck posting on the Chicago forum.

I have heard about short stay rates, where you can basically take a nap and shower, before leaving again. Do check the Chicago forum for information specifically about Chicago hotels. You might also try e-mailing some of the airport chains to see if you can get a specific response. Don%26#39;t forget that if they respond favorably, you will want to have in your carry-on bag whatever you need for a change of clothing, etc.

Wow - that%26#39;s some trek from AK to Paris! (And I thought it was bad from CA!)

What you%26#39;re looking for is called a %26quot;day rate%26quot;, and is somtimes available at airport-area hotels. But you%26#39;re probably going to have to contact the hotel directly to check. (And yes, the Chicgo forum would probably be a better place for this question)

Good suggestions, thanks!
