Manior St Thomas in Amboise

We are planning 4 days May 2008 in Amboise @ Le Manior St. Thomas. Has anyone stayed there. Is it worth $200. a day? Is it as nice as there web claims it is?

We will be there in late August for several days and I will post in late September when we get home. They have been very helpful by e-mail with reservations for restaurants and information about events.

Thank You. I would like to know your thoughts.

Really enjoyed Manoir St Thomas. Tried to post review but won%26#39;t go through. Ditto answering messages so will try here. Manoir is in a lovely setting with free and secure parking on the grounds. In late August the pool and gardens were very nice. We had a room on the main floor with a queen bed, small separate area for desk and a very large bathroom with a great walk in shower. Our room was about 135 euros with breakfast extra at 10 euros but a nice buffet. There are larger rooms but we wanted twin beds and the walk in shower. Hotel is very quiet yet only a short walk from everything, shops, case, restaurants.

Lounge is comfortable and staff is very obliging. Would stay there again if we returned to Amboise.

We stayed near Vouvray at a lovely gite that also has a b and b. Their rates are 78 euros for two people. Its an old mill with ponds and a stream where you can fish if you like. They have a covered outdoor pool with retractable cover. They also have AC in their rooms as the owners own a heating/cooling company. You can book through www.gites-de-france.com Bed %26amp; Breakfast no.G13061. I would stay there again in a second! It gets a very high rating of 4 epis (looks like wheat) their highest rating.
