directions

We are arriving via the Eurostar London (Waterloo Station) to central Paris (Gare du Nord.) We would like to find out how to get from Gare du Nord by several modes of transportation so we may choose which transportation alterative will best suit our needs. We are going from Gare du Nord to Hotel De Suez 31 Boulevard Saint-Michel. Thank you for your assistance.

dial up the metro, bus and RER maps on line -- find out the metro stop near your hotel and see what the most direct route is from Gare du Nord

you can always take a taxi but we hate waiting in the line at Gare du Nord -- we have always felt we arrived at our apartment long before we would have cleared the taxi line which is always very long when the Eurostar or Thalys comes in

Enter the address, click on the bus stop closest to the hotel:

You can catch the 38 city bus in front of the station, east side. Buy tickets from the driver. Like the metro, every stop has a name. There is a button to push when you wish to get off.

Take metro line 4 to St. Michel stop. 31 Blvd St. Michel is just a couple blocks from the metro stop.

If you don%26#39;t mind dragging your luggage up and down stairs, the Metro will get you there a lot faster than the bus.

hello i stayed at this hotel nearly a month ago. here%26#39;s the route i took.

go to gare du nord rer(railway station).take the train 1 direction to saint remy les chevreuse and get off at Luxembourg. the street in front of you is saint michael boulevard.it is a 3 minute walk to the hotel. there is a sign on the exit of the station that indicates the numbers of the street.

by the way the hotel is perfect and the location is ideal. you can walk on foot to the notre dame, saint germain boulevard is just around the corner and the nearest metro stations are clunny sorbonne and saint michael. the is also a bus stop in front of the hotel that takes you directly to the louvre museum. there are several other bus routes and my opinion is to use the bus as often as you can.that way you can see Paris and also stop wherever you please. Check out the Siene cruise boats. you can pick it up from the river bank below Notre dame. it will take you to the eiffel tower and you will enjoy the journey very much!!!

If you%26#39;ve already checked out the HÔTEL de SUEZ (2-star)--31 Blvd. Saint Michel (at: rue des Écoles), 75005, Metro: Cluny-La Sorbonne %26amp; Saint Michel; RER: Saint Michel-Notre Dame -- http://www.hoteldesuezparis.com/ --it will probably suit your purpose.

You can access it from GARE du NORD via #4 Metro lingne (heading in the direction of Porte d%26#39;IOrleans) to the SAINT MICHEL station...or via RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne to LUXEMBOURG station equally well. But in either case, this will involve long-ish Correspondance from the Eurostar arrival platform at %26#39;street level%26#39; down to either the #4Metro or RER %26#39;B%26#39; platforms on the lower levels of the station complex (turn left at the end of your Eurostar arrival platform onto the main concourse of the station and then straight ahead until you come to the RER %26amp; Metro entrances)...and then a walk of a few blocks to the Hotel de Suez from your arrival station.

In this instance, the RER %26#39;B%26#39; to LUXEMBOURG may be the better choice...in that there are escalators down from the SNCF/Eurostar/Thalys portion of Gare du Nord to the RER %26#39;B%26#39; departure platforms....and escalators back up to street level at LUXEMBOURG (ride the LAST cars of the train to be near the station Exit (at Blvd. Saint Michel %26amp; rue Gay-Lussac) near Place Edmond Rostand. This will be a somewhat more %26#39;..direct..%26#39; route than via #4 Metro. The walk from either Saint Michel or Luxembourg station to the hotel will be about equal in distance.

As also noted, the #38--Gare du Nord / Porte d%26#39;Orleans public bus route has stops damn near at the front door of the Hotel de Suez. And since the #38 bus route begins right out in front of Gare du Nord, you probably won%26#39;t have any difficulty in boarding and finding seats near the rear exit door (for convenience of disembarking at your stop) of the bus with luggage in tow. Once you cross the Seine at Ile de la Cité and catch a glimpse of the facade of Notre Dame, begin counting stops and getting your act together to disembark at the Les Écoles stop for the Suez. Of the public transportation option...the #38--Gare du Nord - Porte D%26#39;Orleans is probably the simplest and most direct

Ordinarily, %26#39;m a huge fan of public transportation as a fast, convenient and inexpensive method of getting from point to point in Paris---but not necessarily when rolling luggage along in your wake. This may be one of those times when discretion may be the better part of valour.....and simply turning right at the end of your Eurostar arrival platform instead, onto the main concourse of Gare du Nord and walking straight ahead to the regular TAXI rank there and taking a Taxi Parisian directly to your hotel (fare: approx 10-12€) may be the better alternative.

In any event...you don%26#39;t have to decide which route to take until you step off of the Eurostar at Gare du Nord....but you%26#39;ve got options.
