arc-de-triomphe

May i confirm if there is no lift/elevator to the roof of the arc de triomphe?

YES...there is an elevator up to the top of Arc de Triompke. It is intended for those visitors with physical mobility issues....but they don%26#39;t ask to see a letter from your doctor to prove it.

Thanks for asking this! I am going there tomorrow. I have asthma and I%26#39;m not sure I can walk up. I do fine in the metro. Aren%26#39;t there about 95 steps or so at the Arc de Triomphe?

The sign at the bottom says 288 steps. I got up to 200 before I stopped counting.

Let them know at the ticket office you need to use the lift.

I will definitely be doing that! Thanks. 288 steps. It feels like I do that many steps in a day here in Paris but not all at once! Thanks for the report.

We used the lift this summer with my mom. I didn%26#39;t think to say anything when we bought our tickets. We just looked for the lift area. There was noone there, so we stood there for a moment and then someone came over and helped us. It was very quick and easy.

I didn%26#39;t even realise there was a lift at the start. I saw it when I was already at the top. But that just means I got a little more work on my leg muscles.

I swore at the time that I would continue this good work when I got home by going to the gym regularly. I%26#39;ve been back a week and haven%26#39;t got there yet - maybe tomorrow....

It is a very small elevator with room for only 5 or 6. We did not ask about it but the lady at the ticket window watched my husband walk up the three or four steps to her and directed him without question over to the elevator.

I wish I had taken the lift-what seemed like thousands of school children behind me literally chased me to the top! I could hardly breathe!

Thanks for advice! I shall go to Paris with my parents so I think it is better for us to use the lift to the roof of the arc de triomphe!!
