FIRST TRAINS of the day on all Metro lignes depart their termini at approx. 05:30 AM (7 days per week).
FIRST TRAIN of the day for the RER %26#39;.B-3%26#39; ligne %26#39;..E xxx..%26#39; trains) from Paris out to AEROPORT CDG 1 %26amp; 2 depart their termini at approx. 05:00 AM.
For specific RER and Metro ligne schedules and train frequencies, consult the %26#39;..HORAIRES..%26#39; pages of the RATP%26#39;s web site--

If you can make your own way to GARE du NORD for the 04:56 AM FIRST TRAIN on the RER %26#39;B-3%26#39; that begins it%26#39;s daily run from here...it will bet you to the RER stations at CDG at approx. 05:30 AM....otherwise...waiting for the Metro to begin running, to make a connection to CDG won%26#39;t %26#39;..work..%26#39; for your purposes.

I%26#39;ve taken the RER from Chatelet to CDG to catch 7:30am flights. Each time, I%26#39;ve gotten an express. It takes exactly 34 minutes. (From Gare du Nord it would be shorter, and yes I see that KDKSAIL reports this in a different way.) There aren%26#39;t very many people on it, because it%26#39;s the opposite direction of the commuters. I might have been lucky to catch an express, but suspect that there may be more of them in that direction during the commute. Just be sure that it%26#39;s a B-THREE train that you catch -- a detail that can be overlooked at that early hour...
By the way, I don%26#39;t remember if you said what day you%26#39;re traveling, but there%26#39;s a strike with uncertain parameters coming up, so you might keep your ear to the rail, so to speak.

There is one thing that no one has mentioned - go to your airline%26#39;s web site, or give them a call, and see what their check-in requirements are. The problem is that all airlines over book, particularly on the first flight of a business day. They will set a minimum check in time, and if they have oversold the flight, the first folks to be bumped are those who were late checking in.
I think that intra-EC flights require less lead time than other flights, with the exception of flights to the UK, but check it out anyway. Don%26#39;t rely on anyone else%26#39;s information because these things can change with very little notice.
Bon voyage.

*** I F ***...you can make your own way to GARE du NORD in sufficient time to make the first RER %26#39;B-3%26#39; train of the day out to CDG from here at 04:56 AM (NOTHING later)---arriving at CDG at 05:30 AM...this *** MIGHT *** work for your itinerary....but you would still be taking a chance on delays getting from the RER station at CDG to your airline%26#39;s departure terminal....and delays checking-in with your airline, clearing airport security and getting from here to your boarding gate.
*** IF *** you miss this 04:56 AM train from Gare du Nord, the lext train to CDG isn%26#39;t until 05:30 AM (arriving at the RER stations in CDG at approx. 06:00 AM...and you%26#39;re all out of options...and may not (quite probably won%26#39;t even check you baggage or issue you a boarding pass) be able to clear check-in and security to make your flight.
If you%26#39;re counting on your airline %26#39;..understanding..%26#39; about any airport transfer difficulties created by such an early morning flight...guess again. You booked the flight....the airline%26#39;s have more than amply posted notifications about advance check-in times and possible delays....and any problems are YOUR problems...NOT theirs.
If you miss your flight because of this...I%26#39;m certain that there will be those who will sympathize afterwards with all manner of %26#39;..Oh dear...how terrible for you...%26#39;...but this sort of misplaced sympathy AFTER THE FACT...won%26#39;t do you a damned bit of good at CDG.
So it%26#39;s YOUR choice...either change your flight to a later one....OR....pre-arrange for a TAXI PARISIAN pick-up that will actually get you to your CDG departure terminal NO LESS than two(2) hours (more would be safer) prior to your sheduled departure time....OR.... %26#39;..roll-the-dice..%26#39; (not just an expression in this instance) with the 04:56 AM RER %26#39;B%26#39; train from Gare du Nord.

KDKSAIL, They%26#39;re only going to Rome, so 2 hours in advance is a bit much. The Air France check in counter probably won%26#39;t even be open that far in advance.
If you%26#39;re taking Air France or Alitalia, check-in closes 30 min before the flight time. Security will not be much of a problem. (If you%26#39;re on EasyJet out of terminal 3, I%26#39;m sorry but I don%26#39;t know about their rules.)
The RATP site says that the 4.56 departure to CDG is on the surface, which I believe means it leaves from the main level, not from the normal RER platforms. You%26#39;ll want to get to the Gare du Nord leaving enough time to find the train.
The 5.30 train will get you to CDG at 6. Again, if you%26#39;re on AF or Alitalia, the flight will go out of Terminal 2F, which is close to the RER station. You%26#39;d be in line to check in by 6.15, half an hour before the flight closes. Personally and because I%26#39;m nervous about missing flights, I%26#39;d take the earlier train just so I wouldn%26#39;t have to stress about it. You could also check-in on line the day before and then head to the bag drop off line.
Personally, I%26#39;d bite the bullet and take a taxi, aiming to arrive at my terminal at CDG between 5.45 and 6. Say 5.45 since you aren%26#39;t as familiar with the airport.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;KDKSAIL, They%26#39;re only going to Rome, so 2 hours in advance is a bit much. The Air France check in counter probably won%26#39;t even be open that far in advance.%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
I%26#39;m aware of the itinerary...and that it%26#39;s intra-EU....but I%26#39;m also aware of the indisputable fact that CDG has a well deserved reutation for inexplicable delays...even for intra-EU flights.
If they catch a %26#39;..lull..%26#39; at CDG, these travelers MIGHT breeze through check-in and security in as little as 30-40. minutes...OR...they could just as easily hit a %26#39;..crush..%26#39; and be standing in lines. Relying on airline check-in and security personnel to be sympathetic and expedite processing is usually a bad idea. In the first instance...all that happens is that they%26#39;ve a bit of extra time at the lounge area of their flight%26#39;s departure gate. In the second, they get their backsides re-molded to the shape of airport departure lounge seating....waiting for the next flight to Rome. Neither you nor I will be the least bit inconvenienced or have our best-laid-plans upset . It%26#39;s their trip...it%26#39;s their choice.
