October 6th in Marseile

hey all, irish guy 28 here!!

going over to marseille for the Rugby quarter finals and my mate who was travelling with me has let me down!!.......so i am now a lone traveller!!

never done this before and wondered if anyone had any tips for Marseille or any lovely ladies who fancy meeting up 4 a drink.....haha!!

Was in Marseille for the NZ v Portugal match. Excellent atmosphere for the opening match in O%26#39;Bradys pub - 378 Ave des Mazargues. Everyone was happily talking to everyone else %26amp; managing to overcome language barriers where necessary. Met some people who had come over on their own. Locals were very freindly despite the outcome! There are a couple of other %26#39;big screen%26#39; pubs in Vieux Port where I am sure that you will also get swept into the crowd.

Don%26#39;t try to take large bottles into the stadium. Small plastic bottles are ok - but you%26#39;ll have to take the lid off. Security is tight - everyone was searched at our match - so allow plenty of time to get in. I think that the beer inside was alcohol free.....

i got stung by the non alcoholic beer in the stadium last week and at 8 euro a pop that was a stupid mistake!!!

great atmosphere in stade france but the result was disappointing...........it looks like ireland wont be going much further!!

Same in Nantes for the Wales -v- Canada game. Everyone being searched on the way in. Massive numbers of people outside with 30 minutes to kick off = abandonment of searches.
