Hello to all, We are visiting Nice in early October and looking for some recommendations for good, reasonably priced restaurants.
We are staying on Rue Gounod and don%26#39;t mind walking a fair distance in the evening for good food. We are not on a tight budget, but at the same time not looking for a Gourmet experience!
Kind regards,
Pat.

One of the restaurants we enjoyed in Nice is La Maison de Marie - its on the pedestrisn area but its down walkway - There is a banner - Red with a shirt logo I think - we enjoyed it so much we went there twice.

Places to enjoy great food in Nice without breaking the bank are:
Acchiardo on rue Droite
La Tapenade on rue Sainte-Réparate
La Table Alziari on rue François-Zanin
Chez Davia on rue Grimaldi (get there early to ensure a table)
Le Lunel on quai Lunel (nice setting for a light lunch in good weather)
These are our favourite restaurants in Nice. They are also very popular with the local residents.

The set menu at La Rotonde at The Negresco is good for a treat.
3 course meal is EUR34 with wine and bottled water for 2 we were EUR100 inc tip

We also enjoyed La Maison de Marie twice. We then got the restaurant booklet from the Office du Tourisme and found La M de M is a Cuisine Nissarde so we looked for more with the same award. Some were closed, so its worth ringing to check, but we were delighted with Le Voyageur Nissart near the rail station where we ate outstanding food on a 17.50 euro menu and a total bill around 50 euro.

Hi there,
I live in Nice and to my opinion the best reasonably priced restaurant of Nice is %26quot;L%26#39;Occitanie%26quot; on Rue Gambetta. 20 euros per person for an excellent typical french food (including the famous foie gras as a starter). Be careful : no way to park a car around the restaurant which is not located in a touristic part of Nice (usually, only locals go there).
Phone them at least 3 days before the big day to book a table.

Many thanks to all regarding my post for %26#39; Nice Restaurants%26#39;. Only there for 4 days so we might be talking %26#39;Excess Baggage%26#39; on the way home!!
Regards,
Pat.

If you don%26#39;t mind walking into the Old Town, I had a wonderful dinner at Chez Juliette on rue Rossetti last week. I ordered à la carte, but the set meal was €17.50 for 3 courses, and I noticed that many diners had ordered it and were happy. Service was very friendly, even though they seemed short-handed that evening. I%26#39;d definitely go back!
Closer to your hotel, I recommend Pot d%26#39;Etain on rue Meyerbeer. I loved this small bistro, but should say that the menu is limited. There is currently a lot of duck on the menu (which looked great as it passed by), but I had a very yummy steak au poivre. Desserts were delicious.

Chez Juliette sounds good, think we might give it a try.
Thanks,
Pat.

In Vieux Nice our long-time standby is L%26#39;Ecurie, on the rue du Marché; the restaurant has both Niçois and Italian dishes, including a wonderfully garlicky salad.
Right on the Cours Saléya near the entrance to the underground parking lot is a newish Italian restaurant called La Voglia. Interesting modern décor, terrific food and large portions.

My list of %26#39; must try %26#39; is getting longer, but that%26#39;s ok.
Thanks again.
Pat.
