I have taken two Fat Tire bike Tours, but not one of their Segway tours. Unless you have mobility problems, you shouldn’t have trouble with the tours especially the afternoon ride. If you haven’t ridden a bike in 20 years, you may want to take a few short rides at home to refamiliarize yourself. Paris streets aren’t the place to learn how to ride a bike.

The night tour is longer than their afternoon tour and I felt a bit rushed. But when I took the night bike tour in early May, we arrived at the courtyard of the Louvre at sunset and it was magical! Gliding around the courtyard, circling the pyramid, all with no crowds! I think the evening tour is about 3 miles longer than the afternoon ride and the distance between stops is much longer. The day tour is broken up by a lunch break. The evening tour has a short break for ice cream at Bertillion on the Ile St Louis.

The Fat Tire people make you wear safety vests while riding and some of the French clap and cheer mockingly as your group rides past glowing in the dark. It’s all in good spirits though and if you laugh with them, then they really clap for you.

I highly recommend Fat Tire Tours.

thanks for your reply...

i think the day tour is more leisurely and one can have a feel of the city under proper guidance. i was just a bit worried if they ask to cycle a lot in single stretch as rt now i dont have much practice of cycling

We took the daytime Segway tour, and found it wonderful. You get an adequate training period, and none of our party -- some over 70 -- found them difficult tp master. The trip is long so you do have to stand on your feet for 4 - 5 hours, but at least you don%26#39;t have to pedal.

Have a wonderful time!

I am a middleaged women, who does NOT like sports,, but I found the night bike tour easy and very fun. In fact we enjoyed it so much we booked and took the day bike trip to Versailles, which was also fun, but a bit harder as there were more hills( not steep though) and definately alot more riding.

I haven%26#39;t riden a bike in many many years, so if I found the night tour fun and easy I am thinking most people would.

Interestingly we did not have to wear the vests ( perhaps as this was in August and it was not dark until after the boat trip, which is near the end of the tour) ,, and people did not yell or laugh at us, WE laughed and called out ,, things ( not me personally,, but other younger folks on the trip, and the guides) ,, it was really really fun. I was not going to take this bike tour, I do not normally bike at home, but my friend really wanted to, and she even said she would pay, and so to please her I agreed. I am very glad I did.

Segway tour for me. First they are FUN to use. Second, almost everyone you see on the sidewalks will smile at you. Third, the guide talks as you go and you can easily converse while moving.

I found Fat Tire Segway Tours to be professional and highly enjoyable. I am sure thier bike tours are great too...but how many chances will you get to see Paris from a Segway?
