Dec 26th

Is December 26th a bank holiday is France ?

Will major tourist attractions be open on this day?

Thanks

Mark

Unless it%26#39;s a Sunday (I have not checked) it should be business as usual based on my experience a couple of years ago. (France does not have Boxing Day, like the UK, where even the trains are shut down on Dec. 26.)

The trains are not shut down on 26th in the UK, only on 25th. On Boxing Day there is a Sunday service.

We wanted to take the train from Paris to London and the 26th in 2004, and were told there was no service that day because it was a holiday. Perhaps local train service runs but not the Eurostar?

December 26th is not a public holiday in France. It is a Wednesday this year, so it should be a normal working day.

Apologies, Berkeley, I googled a few things and it looks like the truth is somewhere in between us. London Transport (buses and Tubes) does run a Sunday service (with minor alterations on some routes) on Boxing Day. Some mainline train lines do shut down, with a limited service on others. I%26#39;m not sure what will happen this year as it seems to have become a bit of a green issue now (ie if people don%26#39;t use trains they%26#39;ll use their cars more). Although the train companies might not be too fussed about their customers, not to be seen as green is now a mortal sin, so with a bit of luck they may run more trains this year.
