9 hours layover in CDG... what are the options?

Hi, I%26#39;ve read several posts that CDG is not good for a lengthy wait, I%26#39;m not sure what are the options so I%26#39;m asking for help!

My husband and I as well as two other friends will be heading to Egypt from San Francisco in 3 weeks. We will also be in Paris after our Egypt trip that%26#39;s why we have a layover in Paris. Our connecting flight from Paris to Egypt departs at 6:30pm, but our flight from US to Paris %26quot;scheduled%26quot; to arrive at 9:30am (I%26#39;ve seen flights arrive earlier, and I%26#39;ve seen flights arrive late as well... after all it%26#39;s United Airline.. so can%26#39;t really predict). I was thinking that by the time we arrived and get our luggages, it%26#39;ll be about 10:30am close to 11am. It%26#39;s probably time to find a place for lunch, but not sure what to do during the whole afternoon. I expect to check in for our other flights at around 4pm, that still leaves us with about 4 hours of idle time. This is especially tough after flying for about 12-13 hours of flight. What would you guys do if you are in this situation?

Thanks!!

I would rent a room at a nearby hotel that offers shuttle service and head straight there for a nap. Then have a late lunch before returning to the airport for the next leg of that killer trip. Something like the Novotel would be moderate in price and comfortable. You%26#39;ll be very glad that you%26#39;ve had the time to stretch out and relax.
