I%26#39;ve booked a studio for myself and teenage son for wk 22-29 Dec 2007. Skiing intermed.for me, boarding intermed. for him. Can anyone recommend a ski school, and is it advisable to pre-book? Also, nice places for eats esp. on Dec 25th? Appreciate any help.

Where are you staying, Chamonix, Argentiere or Les Houches ?
If in Argentiere try the Dahu to Chez Anais both very traditional and good.
In Chamonix I like the National Brasserie next to the Post Office and the place opposite the PO. Not sure of the name though.
Ski School try Evolution 2.

Thanks for help. We are staying in Chamonix. I looked at the Ecole de Ski Chamonix website for courses, and they seem to offer a longer half day at cheaper prices. Does anyone have any experience of this school?

Eco;e Ski de Chamonix is the Ecole Ski de francais. OK if you speak French as they do not push themselves as English speaking.
You might get lucky.

Evo2 have a good rep, and my brother used basschamonix.com and found them excellent.
