I know I can look up weather statistics, but what is it like from experiences of others to travel to Paris in the late March/Early April frame?

The first time I went to Paris it was around this time of the year... and just like anyone else will tell you, the weather is basically a crap-shoot. While we were there it was definitely chilly, and somesort of rain jacket will be required. Layers work best, and a folding umbrella is a must. However, on a couple of the days we had really nice sunny days, chilly in the morning, but by the afternoon we were all removing layers. I know that%26#39;s not much help, but I tried!

You can get lucky and have a sunny, warm day into the 60s, but I%26#39;ve been to Paris during that time frame several times, and each time most days were blustery, off-and-on rain showers, and bone-chilling wet cold, high 40s to low 50s.
Bring hand gloves to keep your hands warm, and dress in layers. A small umbrella is also quite useful.

We were there the first week of April this year and the weather was beautiful. Mornings and evenings were cool (light jacket, light layers underneath) but the days got quite warm where you could get by with just a shirt and no jacket. No rain during the day either. I think we were very lucky with weather.
The gardens in the city were in full bloom and very lush and green but the leaves were just starting to come out on the trees. Paris in the springtime is beautiful...and definitely a lot less busy than the summer.

We, too, were there over Easter week last year, 4/5 - 4/14 and it was the best yet in terms of weather. We saw one photo show at the Library and a small exhibit at the Petit Palace, but otherwise spent our time walking or sitting in a park or at a cafe, just like everyone else...
