Bringing around 10 rolls of medium format b%26amp;w film along in november and wondering whether it%26#39;s worth getting a lead bag or just putting the film in baggies (tightly wrapped with rubber bands) so our friends at the TSA don%26#39;t freak out? any thoughts?

Did you already read what your friends at the TSA say about traveling with film and lead bags?

And this from Kodak--

We hand carry our film in lead bags and ask for them to be hand inspected.
We have never had any problems.
Do not put them in your checked luggage!!!!!

Just one more reason I%26#39;m glad I went to a digital SLR! (Good luck, and I hope the pictures turn out such that you are glad you went to that much trouble!)

Forget about lead bags. The security personnel will increase the power output of the X-Rays until lead becomes transparent to X-Rays, and guess what will happen to your precious 120 rolls ?
I do use 120 film all the time, B%26amp;W and Ektachrome 100/200, I never had the slightest problem with having them go through X_rays without protection. Even after 4 X-Ray passes.
