Excelsior hotel

I have booked a holiday to Nice in October and am staying at the Excelsior. However I am worried about the comments that it is in a somewhat grimy area as I am travelling with my mother and grandmother, is the area safe enough or should we reconsider?

I%26#39;ve had friends who have stayed at the Excelsior, and have enjoed it. The one advantage is, that it is not too far from the train station, should you take day trips, but it is somewhat of a walk to the old town, and the water, maybe 15 minutes to each. If your grandmother is up to it, you%26#39;ll get a good feel of Nice with some casual strolling. The neighborhood is not that bad. Enjoy!

Thanks, most travellers seemed to have liked it but I tend to be a worrier and just wanted to double check. My grandmothers a fit woman so the walk shouldn%26#39;t be a problem.
