How long will it take? Do you advise it for the views etc. We are thinking about leaving early in the morning and returning same night very late but appreciate any input.

my advice would be if you%26#39;re going to go to cinque terre do it for the hike....the views are fantastic during the hike but nothing you don%26#39;t see other places in the riviera if you don%26#39;t hike. The hike would take the average person 5 hours of hiking without any extended breaks, but you%26#39;ll probably want to stop in the towns along the way for shopping and lunch somewhere. Not sure how long the drive is, but the trains take 4 or 5 hours using express trains with a change in Genoa. I think it%26#39;s 80 km from Genoa. I also believe the 5 cities of the Cinque Terre have very limited car access.
