Could you check my itinerary please? Thanks!

My husband and I are leaving for Paris on Thursday, 9/27. We are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. Below is our rough itinerary. We are staying on the Ile St. Louis.

He has been to Paris, but I have not. We just want to make sure we cover all of the %26quot;must sees.%26quot; Our interests are food, wine, antiques, and museums. I also would like to work a bit of clothes shopping in. Does our itinerary look okay? Is there anything we seem to be missing or that looks %26quot;off?%26quot;

Also, we are undecided on our %26quot;day trip.%26quot; I would like to visit a quaint town that%26#39;s fun to walk around in. I was thinking Giverny, Senlis, or Auvers-sur-Oise would be nice. Any comments on that would be appreciated. Thanks!

Friday looks a bit crammed - you might want to switch one of those to Monday, along with the Louvre (the Louvre tends to be overwhelming, and you probably are going to burn out after three or four hours so would have time to do something else that afternoon).

Other than that, this looks pretty realistic and allows plenty of time to just walk around, watch people, etc., which is one of the most fun parts of a visit to Paris. Be sure to allow time to visit the shops on Ile St Louis, which has a lot of moderately priced boutiques, etc.

I thought I would have a comment about the shopping situation. Us girls understand each other. You definitively want to go to the Nouvelles Galeries: big shopping complex on the Boulevard Haussman. Even if you%26#39;re not planning on buying anything, it%26#39;s worth going to. It has everything! And the inside is gorgeous. It is just behind the Opera. I would add on Wednesday %26#39;s itinery.

schedule your Seine walk at night -- Notre Dame at night is one of the wonders of the world -- or better yet -- do it twice

of course given your hotel location, you will be able to walk around Notre Dame every night after dark -- lucky you

I%26#39;d think hard about the canal if you mean to go by boat -- this could be the world%26#39;s most boring day -- think about heading out to Chartres for the day instead -- and take in the Malcolm Miller lecture if you do that

you can get your Orsay ticket from a little office on site (when you are just out and about) which will be good any day but the day you purchase it -- this will allow you to skip the line on the dday you want to go -- the Orsay is one museum (the Orangerie the other) where there always seem to be long lines.

Thanks for all of the tips! I was wondering whether we should do the canal or not. I am thinking that we will probably skip that. We will also add one of the museums from Friday to Monday, either before or after the Louvre.

Great tip about the Nouvelles Galeries! We will definitely stop by. Hubby will not be happy about a shopping day, but maybe I can convince him that it will be worth his while!

I also appreciate the tip about the Orsay. I did not know about getting tickets in advance-- this will save us a ton of time.

We are so exited the trip is almost here!
