Cheapest way to fly from US to Paris and then go to Berlin?

We would like to take our son to Paris from Washington, DC for about 3 days and then travel to Berlin for another 3 days and back to D.C. Anyone have suggestions on cheapest way to do this? Txs.

Hmm, tough one. As for your transatlantic flight, search around. It might be cheaper to fly to London and then take a cheap flight to Paris. Try Icelandair, they sometimes have great fares with a stopover in Reykjavík.

There are two ways from getting to Berlin. Either take the train, which takes quite a while, or fly. The British airline EasyJet fly low-cost flights (similar to Southwest Airlines in the U.S.) between Paris CDG and Berlin.

Txs! Sounds like good idea. Appreciate your help!!

logical choice is Air France or Lufthansa with stopover at Paris or Berlin. use a fare search engine like www.kayak.com

Otherwise take the train. Budget airlines rarely work out after you factor in the remote airport locations, excess baggage fees, etc.

only 3 days each?

honestly why bother

pick either place and spend 6 days

Hi Bikelover,

Easyjet is a good option from Paris to Berlin, but make sure to understand the luggage allowances as the transatlantic part of your trip will probably allow a heavier baggage allowance and extra kilograms of luggage are expensive on Easyjet (on all budget airlines).

Also try to avoid having to make a same day connection when returning to the US - you may need to cross the city to use different airports and probably will not be able to check in the last part of your journey until you are in Paris.

It may be worth checking the Air France site to see about a through trip with them - as a full service airline if you were to fly Berlin - Paris - US then they will at least let you check in fully in Berlin and see you through to your connection if there%26#39;s a delay. You may find the price is reasonable if booking in advance.

Txs. I didn%26#39;t realize the smaller airlines had lighter luggage allowances - although we try to always pack very light! I will check with Air France and also check on the open jaw ticket.

Good idea about staying over extra night to make connection home!

Rubbish. Easyjet fly from Paris CDG (the main airport) and fly into Berlin%26#39;s main airport. Easily the cheapest option.
